Recruit announced on Oct 21 that its used-car site "Carsensor net" and its dealer support service "C-MATCH" suffered unauthorized access, and personal data on up to about 3.7 million records (3,709,551) may have leaked. That includes about 3.21 million inquiries from users to dealers (mainly names and addresses, some with phone numbers and emails) and about 480,000 records about dealers. Credit card payment data and login passwords were not included, and no misuse has been confirmed so far. Recruit detected suspicious access on Oct 17 and suspended the services from about 5pm that day; the count of possibly leaked records was found on Oct 20.
