In English
On Oct 21, warm southerly air pushed temperatures up across eastern and western Japan. Central Tokyo hit 30.3°C, Nagoya 31.4°C and Osaka 31.2°C, and all three logged their latest "manatsubi" (30°C+ day) since records began. Tokyo's previous latest was Oct 19, 2024; Osaka's was Oct 20, 1933, so its record was broken for the first time in 93 years. About 157 spots nationwide (nearly 20% of 914) hit 30°C. tenki.jp says the heat is temporary: highs drop sharply from Oct 22, and Tokyo is forecast to reach only 18°C on Saturday Oct 24, like early November, so it's time to get jackets out.
